Description: Refurbishment and alteration works to showcase sustainable technology within heritage projects. This HLF / EU funded project centred around an existing former stable building, that was delivered to BREEAM Excellent and Carbon Neutral initiatives. The building comprised exhibition space, integral technologies, offices, toilets and café area. The scheme also included the refurbishment of an existing disused waterwheel, which was fitted with an Archimedes screw water turbine to generate electricity from the river Wandle. Works also included a new groundsman compound and associated external works.
